Dec 8, 2020 (Hollywood, MD) - Platform Aerospace announces the award of a five-year, $40M IDIQ contract to provide Manufacturing & Services Acquisition (MASA) Manufacturing Support to the Naval Surface Warfare Center, Indian Head Explosive Ordnance Disposal Technology Division (NSWC IHEODTD). Platform Aerospace is one of four awardees on Task 2 of the contract to provide the manufacturing, assembly, and testing of products that will be used in a research and development setting.

We are excited to join the Indian Head team, not only because we can directly contribute to their technology development, but also because it strengthens our Southern Maryland defense tech community,” said Platform Aerospace CEO, Kurt Parsons.

As a field activity of the Naval Sea Systems Command, and part of the Navy’s Science and Engineering Establishment, NSWC IHEODTD is the Navy’s premier facility for ordnance, energetics, and explosive ordnance disposal (EOD) solutions. Platform Aerospace, located less than one hour from Indian Head, will support NSWC IHEODTD through its unique and collocated design engineering, fabrication, and modification and maintenance capabilities. Platform is well-suited to support NSWC IHEODTD’s mission with demonstrated performance on a variety of fixed-wing, rotary, and unmanned aerospace systems and an ability to deliver both high-complexity individual components as well as multipart assemblies.
